I decided to start writing this blog to connect and share experiences with other intercultural couples. Knowing that there are already so many people out there who are at different stages in their relationships and who have had similar experiences to the ones I've had myself has encouraged me to get this blog up and running. Normally I would never have written a blog in a million years, I'm just not the type to unleash my opinions on the world, but sometimes being the only "gori wife" gets a bit lonely and you just want to know that you're not alone.
So, let me give you the background. I'm Little Miss London Masala and I'm married to G, the craziest Pakistani in town and we've just celebrated our second anniversary We met at work, but things didn't get off the ground straight away. At first we were just friends and then we kind of went forward from there.
Anyway, as far as family goes, we haven't had any real problems from either side (which I am eternally grateful for), although there have been a few side-remarks made by one or two desi relatives in the "She's going to run off" category. G is brilliant though in that he deflects this kind of negativity away from our relationship.
Well there are a few more things that I thought of saying while writing this out, but I don't want to run out of decent comedy material just as the show's getting started do I?
Welcome
Hot on the heels of The Gori Wife, Gori Girl and many others comes Little Miss London Masala, a white British girl married to a Pakistani guy and living somewhere in London. Having been a passive spectator for the past few years, I thought it high time that I got myself out there and join the intercultural blogging community. This is my first ever blog (due to the anonymous spectator thing), so wish me luck...
